Timeline

Because of the custom nature of our business, our timelines are an estimate. We build each piece individually and to the specs of each order. More then not, we will get pieces done on time or even ahead of schedule but it's those few times that we don't that we require understanding. We are not a big manufacturing company, we are a small business. Delays can happen for many reasons and we hate to be longer then estimated - so please be patient and remember that we are doing everything in our power to get you your piece.

We offer a 1 year warranty on all of our furniture - covering any manufacturing defects such as loosening of hinges, bolts, screws etc.; cracking, shrinking, swelling, warping of wood (if humidity levels have been kept at proper levels *see below*) and any finishing defects.

****If proper care has not been taken (cleaning/daily use, humidity levels etc.) we will repair but there may be a fee depending on the circumstances.****

****If the 1 year warranty is past we will repair any problems but a fee may be applicable.****

Furniture Care

Caring for your furniture is simple and can ensure a lifetime of enjoyment from your investment.

These are 3 Easy-care tips that will enhance and maintain your furniture:

1    During winter months use a humidifier and control humidity from 40 – 45%. Dryness in the air, caused by your furnace, could affect the furniture and cause it to dry excessively.

2    Absolutely avoid using solvents, water, hot or cold objects on the furniture for the first month while the finish cures. Damp cloths are fine.

3    Open the doors and drawers for 1 hour daily during the first month to ensure proper curing of the inside.

Tips for the daily use of your furniture

1    Avoid direct sunlight if at all possible. Use drapes or blinds during the day.

2    Use padding/coasters under all rough china and hot or cold objects.

3    Store table leaves in close proximity to table or in the same humidity and avoid storing leaves in damp basements where the leaves may swell.

4    Dust with a soft cloth, following the grain pattern of the wood.

5    For cleaning, use a damp cloth. Dry immediately with a soft cloth and buff lightly, following the grain.

6    Do not wax or use any polish like pledge or anything containing silicon.

7    Do not scrape or drag dishes across the clear coat.

Breadboards

The boards at the end of the table top are called bread boards - they are strictly an aesthetic option that are perceived by some as giving it a more harvest look. They do have a nice look, however, wood naturally shrinks and expands in only one direction and the breadboards may interfere with this natural movement. The bread boards on your harvest table run in the opposite direction which means they won't shrink in the same direction as the other boards.

Your table top will loose moisture in the dryer months (Winter) and then regain the moisture in the humid months (Spring/Summer) - this will cause movement in the boards (shrinkage/swelling) - by keeping the proper humidity levels up during the drier months it will lessen the chance of movement greatly - (see above in “Furniture Care”).

It is possible that during the cooler, dryer months your "bread boards" on your harvest table could overhang and it also may cause cracking/separation in the table planks. This is always unpleasant and could cause panic, however this is the natural process of real wood and in theory, come spring and summer the boards should re expand with all the extra moisture and humidity in the air. If you find after a full season that the boards have not swelled back to their original state then we would come out to trim the bread board and/or repair cracks and then touch it up with stain and re-clear.

This shouldn't deter you from adding bread boards to your harvest table but it is a real issue that you must take into consideration when ordering a solid wood piece of furniture.

We are not saying that without the breadboards there will be absolutely no problems, there still could be - wood is wood. There is just a smaller chance without the attached breadboards.
